Position

An international trade law practice seeks an attorney to support customs and import-related matters. The role involves advising on U.S. customs law and working on compliance, regulatory, and agency matters. The position offers hands-on involvement in active matters and the opportunity to manage work with increasing independence.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze customs issues, including tariff classification, valuation, and country of origin

  • Work on customs compliance reviews, post-entry audits, and CBP inquiries

  • Conduct legal and factual research related to customs and trade regulations

  • Draft memoranda, correspondence, and submissions to government agencies

  • Coordinate filings and manage regulatory and litigation deadlines

  • Work collaboratively with attorneys and other professionals on client matters

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school

  • 2–7 years of experience in customs, international trade, or related regulatory work

  • Admission to a U.S. state bar (DC preferred)

  • Strong research, writing, and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple matters independently
