Procurement Manager

The Procurement Manager leads clinical procurement, purchasing, inventory, and surgical supply chain operations to ensure the timely, cost-effective availability of medical/surgical supplies, orthopedic implants, capital equipment, and clinical services. This hands-on leadership role oversees vendor management, GPO contracts, orthopedic vendor negotiations, surgeon preference cards, case carts, and sterile inventory control across the center and affiliated clinics.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily purchasing operations for clinical supplies, orthopedic implants, surgical instrumentation, and facility materials.
- Build strategic relationships with medical vendors and optimize Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) contracts to achieve tier-one pricing, rebates, and cost savings.
- Oversee surgical case cart preparation, surgeon preference cards, loaner tray management, and Central Processing/Sterilization workflows to guarantee 100% surgical readiness.
- Manage purchase orders, vendor setup, pricing updates, and inventory tracking using healthcare-specific MMIS/ERP software.
- Supervise shipping, receiving, PAR levels, cycle counts, lot/expiration tracking, and storage of high-value implants and biologicals while minimizing waste and excess stock.
- Partner with Finance on cost-center allocations, spend reporting, invoice matching, and compliance with AAAHC, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards.
- Supervise, train, and mentor inventory specialists, buyers, and receiving staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5+ years in healthcare supply chain, surgical materials management, or procurement within an Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) or hospital setting.
- Strong working knowledge of surgical implants, preference cards, GPO structures, and healthcare MMIS systems.
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Healthcare Administration, or Business preferred.
